Namaste!
Welcome to Shishu Mela 2007, a unique event brought to you by the children of Shishukunj.
Shishukunj, which means “Garden for Children” was established as a charity in August 1976. The objectives are to promote Indian culture instilling good values amongst our children. We aim to provide an environment rich in positive values to promote the physical, spiritual, mental and social development of the child. For further information on Shishukunj please visit our website.
Shishu Mela celebrates 30 years existence of Shishukunj London. This is a tremendous achievement as thousands of children have benefited from attending our organisation and have been enshrined with the good values that Shishukunj embodies, and are now leading the community in various areas. The Mela is primarily catered for children but will be enjoyed by all ages. There will be many activities during the day where children and parents will learn something new and interesting, together with discussions which affect all of us in this day and age. Activities include Dance and Indian music workshops, children’s creativity, yoga, our ancestral Indian exercise. Look through the website to get an idea of what experiences you and your children can enjoy.
The event will also include evening entertainment of high calibre. The Saturday evening show will feature renowned artists from across the globe including the legendary Indian percussionist Sivamani who has worked with A. R. Rahman, the composer of “Bombay Dreams” whose musical was being staged by Andrew Lloyd Webber at the Apollo Theatre in London. On Sunday you will have the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor Raas / Garba evening – just like you see in India! This will truly be an amazing night where you will see the talents of our children shine on stage.
Our doors are open to all, so make sure you invite all your friends and family to enjoy this colourful weekend and turn it into your family summer weekend out.
Should you require more details please do not hesitate to contact our office and someone will be more than happy to help.
We look forward to seeing you at Shishu Mela 2007.
